Abstract

The goal of the project was to determine the types of genes the archaeon N. viennensis expressed when grown in copper limited conditions. The purpose of the project was to try and elucidate potentially novel copper uptake pathways. Cultures of N. viennensis were grown under Cu-limited and Cu-replete conditions. The total RNA was extracted from cells grown in each condition and sequenced using the Illumina HiSeqV4 SR50 platform.
