Abstract

The microbial biocenosis of the Danube near Vienna has been studied through a year. The influence of the sewage from Vienna has been analysed in a way as to compare microbial-ecological parameters with the classical bacteriological water quality tests. The seasonal dynamics, the distribution in space and the influencing factors of bacterial carbon production and of the extracellular enzymatic activity of heterotrophic bacteria have been studied. -English summary
